SATURDAY was a busy day for Istead & Ifield's athletes, who took part in two competitions on the same day.

A total of 27 runners took part in the Harvel five mile race in the afternoon and two of them went on to compete in a south of England athletics league meeting in Dartford where Istead finished second.

The club's first four runners at Harvel finished within 30 seconds of each other.
