THE second meeting of this season's Kent Young Athletes League for under-13s and under-15s was held at Canterbury High School's track on Sunday.

There were some notable performances from the Dartford Harriers contingent, particularly Robert Hammond in the under-15 boys events with wins in the high and long jumps and second place in the 80m hurdles.

Gemma Brown continues her dramatic progress in the under-13s discus, to which she has added five metres in the last month, with this weekend's throw of 31.16m making her the current UK number one.

It was an impressive weekend's work for the Brown family as Gemma's sister Samantha enjoyed wins in the under-15s 100m and 75m hurdles.

Also in the under-15s, Natalie Hickmott reinforced her position at the top of the national rankings in the 300m with a time of 41.7s, just outside her personal best of 41.5s.
