BLACKHEATH & Greenwich (B&G) Bowls Club moved into the third round of the EBA Top Club with a 3-2 win against Met Police B.
With the two singles games shared, a win in the pairs handed B&G a 2-1 lead.
The match looked in the bag when the triples took a big lead in the next match, but they threw it away and Met Police B were back on terms to set up a decider.
B&G's four of Graham Booth, Ted Allen, Richard Hurrell and Tom Beesley took up the challenge to secure the vital last point and victory in an entertaining encounter.
Fours days later, B&G were involved in another tight game with Bromley in the L&SC Shield.
Bromley opened up a 15 shot lead at Blackheath, but they were five down at home after ten ends.
In a game which saw Bromley leading by 12 shots at 10 ends and then B&G gaining the advantage at 15 ends to lead by 11, the match was decided on the last end played at Blackheath.
With B&G leading by two shots, Steve Marretts' rink had to score.
Bromley held the two shots needed, but B&G's Allen trailed the jack into the ditch to hold two shots. Bromley failed to change the position and Marrett added another shot for a 94-89 victory.
James King, 17, had a fine 21-13 win in the L&SC Lonsdale singles at Eastbourne and will now play the winner of the Maidstone v Eltham match.
