DESPITE a depleted turnout for what is always a popular event, Cambridge Harriers' men still took the team prize on a glorious Sunday for the fifth year in a row at the Eltham Park five-miler.

Emeric Hurault stormed home in fifth place and was the first M40 runner to cross the line in 29m08s.

Returning from a three-month absence due to a serious ankle injury, Mark Penny was the next to finish and impressed with a time of 29m59s.

Gerard McCann continues to run consistently well and was the third Harrier home, to secure the team prize with a time of 31m19s.

Not far behind was the fast-improving Kevin White, completing the five miles in a personal best of 31m43s.

Rosa Sampson-Geroski continues to perform with confidence and her time of 36 minutes ensured she was the second woman over the line.

Jim Collis was another Cambridge Harrier returning from injury.

Using the race to test his recovered Achilles, he finished in 35m26s.

John Murphy and Michael Simmons finished close together.

The vets clocked 36m32s and 36m55s respectively to round off a pleasing time for Cambridge at the event, which was well organised by the New Eltham Joggers Club.
