Four weeks into the South London & Kent Pool Alliance summer season and there are only four teams that have kept their unbeaten record, one in each division.

In the Elite League there was a top of the table tussle between Eltham Terrace Club A and Hotshots and as expected it was a great game.

Hotshots got off to the better start, taking the first set, 4-1 which included a dish from a dry break by the returning Connor Hewson.

Terrace fought back in the second set, winning the first two frames but Hotshots levelled the set to force a final frame shoot out, with Dan Heinink overcoming Steve Krishnan to give Terrace the set, making it one set all but Hotshots were, 6-4 ahead going into the final set.

The first two frames were shared, then Danny Kelliher won the next frame to give Hotshots the bonus point, before Terrace took the penultimate frame to take the match into a final frame decider.

Captain Neil Hall brought it home, winning his only frame for Hotshots, beating Dan Foley to make the score, 2-1 & 9-6 to leapfrog their opponents Into top spot.

Hewson suffered no ring rust on his return, scoring three out of three, as did Kelliher.

Eltham Terrace Rovers lost ground on the top two, going down, 2-1 & 8-7 to Allstars however, they do stay in third, whilst Allstars are now fifth.

Pickwick pick up their first win of the season to lift themselves off the bottom of the table and above their opponents, Eltham Terrace Nuthouse Into sixth place.

Both teams took one of the first two sets, 3-2 so it was still all square going into the final set, which went to a final frame decider, that Joe Kane held his nerve to win, giving Pickwick the, 2-1 & 8-7 victory.

Louis Wilbourne spearheaded the Nuthouse attack, winning all three of his frames, including a total clearance in the second set and a dish in the last set, after Tony Bailey went in off on the break and Wilbourne was supported by Jon Syta, scoring two out of three.

Paul Gafa top scored for the victors with an unbeaten hat-trick.

Bellegrove Flyers have replaced Pickwick at the bottom, after they were beaten by Hustlers Simply Lovleh this week.

Flyers had the better start, taking the first set, 3-2 but they fell apart in the second set, with Simply Lovleh whitewashing it, 5-0.

Simply Lovleh came out on top, taking the last set, 3-2 to win the match, 2-1 in sets and 10-5 in frames.

George Covington and Tony Stork were the inspiration behind the victory, both winning all three of their frames.

Luke Chantler played his first match of the season for Flyers and was their top scorer on two out of three.

Flyers are going to find it hard to haul themselves off the bottom in the next couple of weeks, as they face the top two sides.

North Heath Social Club stay top of SLKPA Tier Two East in style coming back from, 2-0 down against Bellegrove A to win the first set, 3-2 with Akar Necati successful in the deciding frame.

They went on to take the next two sets for an overall, 3-0 & 12-3 victory, with Brett Crawley securing frame thirteen and maximum points for North Heath.

Ian Stringer and Pat Melia had their own personal battle, playing each other in all three sets, with North Heath’s Stringer coming out on top, 2-1 although both players rode their luck on occasions.

Tony Garrett recorded an unbeaten hat-trick for the victors.

Second placed New Eltham lost their unbeaten run to Royal Oak in third, which is ironic as New Eltham played with a full team for the first time this season.

The first two sets were both won, 4-1 with each team taking one, so it was all to play for in the final set.

Peter Whyte put New Eltham ahead with his third frame win of the night but Royal Oak went on to take the last four frames for an overall, 2-1 & 9-6 triumph.

Phil Tworek and Steve Heather were both unbeaten for Royal Oak, scoring a brace each.

Royal Oak are now two points behind New Eltham, who are four points behind North Heath.

CSC Mr’s & Miss Q’s overtook Eltham Terrace Rack Pack, with a, 2-1 & 8-7 victory over them but Rack Pack did make it difficult for themselves, having just four players.

Rack Pack got off to the perfect start with newcomer Adam Watts recording a break and dish and they went on to take the first set, 3-2 but CSC won the next two sets by the same score for the win.

Ross Webster was the only unbeaten player for CSC, winning both his frames but Jamie Walkey went one better for Rack Pack win an unbeaten hat-trick.

There were big wins all over SLKPA Tier Two West, none more so than table toppers Sharks, who beat bottom team Bellegrove Superstars, 3-0 & 13-2 to keep up their unbeaten run.

Superstars didn’t start that badly, only losing the first set, 3-2 but they weren’t to win another frame, with Sharks taking all of the last ten frames.

One point behind Sharks are Rose Inn, who scored their own massive, 3-0 & 12-3 triumph over Fox & Hounds.

Rose Inn won each set, 4-1 with Alan Dolan, two frames and Neil Shelton, one frame, the only ones to trouble the scorers for Fox.

Ben Main won both of his frames for Rose but team mates Dean Greaney-Parr and Lewis Hearn went one better with an unbeaten hat-trick. Two points behind Rose Inn are Woolwich Wolfpack, after they beat Crayford Social Club Rugrats, 2-1 & 10-5 sending Rugrats second bottom.

New Eltham Club remain unbeaten at the top of SLKPA Tier Three, after an Impressive, 3-0 & 13-2 victory over new boys Lord Kitchener.

They won the first two sets, 4-1 to secure the bonus point before the final set, which they went on to whitewash, 5-0 to complete the rout.

Jamie Phillips, Gary Mason and Jeff Bailey all top scored with three out of three and they were supported by Dan Fory and Mark Pearce, winning two frames each.

New Eltham Social Club stay in second despite losing their first match of the season against Academicals.

The first two sets went to Academicals, 3-2 and 4-1 but New Eltham Social Club recovered and took the final set, 3-2 to make the overall score, 2-1 & 9-6 in Academicals favour.

This result puts Academicals just one point behind their opponents now, with Happy Hustlers three points behind them, after they were surprisingly beaten by Bexleyheath Working Mans Club.

Bexleyheath took the first set, 3-2 and went on to win the last two sets, 4-1 to finish up, 3-0 & 11-4 winners overall.

Another surprising victory came as new boys Red Barn comprehensively beat Real Hustlers for their first win of the season.

The first set was very close, with Red Barn just edging it, 3-2 but that was It for Hustlers, as Red Barn ramped it up taking all of the last ten frames to move them into sixth place.
