Week six of the South London & Kent Pool Alliance Winter league season and there are two teams representing the Bellegrove, Bellegrove A and Bellegrove Social Club, still seeking their first victory of the season.

In the first division Bellegrove A feel that their first is just around the corner, after pushing second placed, Rose Inn all the way.

They started the better, with Captain, John Skuza and Bobby Brown taking the first two frames but Rose Inn came back and tied the set, before Steve Gillam won the fifth frame to give Bellegrove the set.

Rose Inn took the second set to tie the match at five frames all and went on to take the final set, 4-1, with Lewis Hearn finishing it off with a 7-baller to give his side the, 9-6 victory.

Pat Melia and Steve Gillam held this Bellegrove side, full of new players, together, with two out of three frame wins.

Just below Rose Inn in third are Crayford Social club Rugrats, who played fourth placed Eltham Terrace Rack Pack and their close proximity in the table was reflected in the, 8-7 score line in Rugrats favour.

Rugrats have now extended their lead over Rack Pack to seven points and also seven points ahead of Rugrats at the top of the table are Sharks, after they beat CSC Mr's & Miss Q's by 10 frames to 5 this week.

The damage was done in the first two sets, which they took, 4-1 to have the match sewn up by the end of the second set, which maybe why CSC were able to steal the last set, 3-2.

Arif Salih scored an unbeaten brace but Chris Mackenzie went one better, with three out of three to help keep Sharks unbeaten at the top of the table. Also still looking for their first win of the season are Bellegrove Social Club of the SLKPA Premier Division.

This week they went down, 9-6 to Hotshots, who as a result went top of the table.

Previous table-toppers, Eltham Terrace Rovers lost their lead due to a, 10-5 defeat to sister side Eltham Terrace Nuthouse.

Nuthouse continued their cup form from last week by taking the first set, 4-1 and they went on to edge the next two sets, 3-2 for the overall victory.

It was a great all round team performance with every player recording a victory; Zoe Healy and Aaron Shephard took one of their three frames, Craig Jones went one better with two out of three but Jon Syta and Louis Wilbourne recorded a maximum three frame wins.

Rovers had to thank Ryan Francis for keeping them in the match, winning three of his team's five frames.

Rovers drop to fifth with Nuthouse leapfrogging them into fourth however, they are on the same points along with Eltham Terrace Club A, who this week lost to Hustlers A.

This was a very close match, which Hustlers managed to nick, 9-6 thanks to an unbeaten hat-trick from Phil O'Kane, which included a break and dish in the first set.

Terrace's Dave Rawlinson wasn't to be outdone though, performing a total clearance from a dry break in the second set.

Bellegrove rose from fifth to second, after defeating Pickwick.

The victors took a, 2-0 lead but Pickwick fought back, taking the next five frames however, Bellegrove managed to tie the match at five all by the end of the second set, which included a break and dish by Steve Lloyd.

Pickwick won the first frame of the last set but that was it for them, as Bellegrove took the final four frames for a, 9-6 triumph.

Mark Brinkley won all three of his frames for Pickwick, as did Lloyd for Bellegrove and team mate Dean James was also unbeaten with two out of two, against his former team.

This result sends Pickwick second bottom, one point behind Hustlers B, who recorded an excellent victory over sister side Hustlers Simply Lovleh this week.

Hustlers B looked to stalwart Paul Dawson and new boy Jason Gallagher for the inspiration behind their triumph as they both scored an unbeaten hat-trick.

The Premier Division has a very interesting look to it, with Hotshots and Bellegrove at the top, followed by the three teams from Eltham Terrace then the four teams that play out of Hustlers and Bellegrove Social Club bringing up the rear.

The table was all change this week and it will probably continue like this throughout the season, as only five points separate the top seven teams and six points the bottom three.

Two Bellegrove teams maybe struggling but along with Bellegrove from the Premier Division, Bellegrove Flyers from Division Two are also riding high.

They remain top and unbeaten so far this season, after this week's, 10-5 win over Foots Cray Social Club.

The Flyers just edged the first set, 3-2 but they stepped it up in the second, taking it, 4-1 before another narrow, 3-2 victory in the third to seal the win.

None stepped it up more than Nick Stearns and Keith Mitchell, who both won all three of their frames and they were supported by Mark Kelley, scoring two out of three.

Next week Flyers travel to New Eltham Social Club for a top of the table clash, six points ahead of them, after New Eltham scored their own, 10-5 triumph over Happy Hustlers this week.

Academicals picked up their second win of the season and closed the gap between them and North Heath Social Club to just two points, after they beat them, 8-7 this week.

The match was finely poised at seven all when Kevin England won a hard fought final frame decider to give his side the victory. Chris Bracey played out of his skin to score two out of three for Academicals but on the other hand a massive fluke gave team mate Dean Williams the same score.
