Star Kickboxing Club in Gravesend has produced another world title holder.

Tina ‘The Machine’ Harvey battled it out on Sunday night for the world amateur bantamweight crown against Irish opponent Catherine Culliman at the Casino Rooms in Rochester.

Harvey fought in her usual commanding style and won every round, although Culliman would not back down.

That prompted a decision from the judges, which was unanimous in favour of the Gravesend girl, who was also awarded the fighter of the night prize after such a dominant display.

Fellow Star member Phoebe Cumiskey, aged 12, took on Tipperary’s Alicia Chambers at the same Kombat Zone clash in Rochester.

Cumiskey controlled the five-round fight, giving a master class in kickboxing to the spectators by winning every round to become the five nations IKF junior featherweight champion.

This belt will hang alongside her six other title belts and three world title gold medals.

Serj Fedins was up against a very worthy opponent Audrius Marcelo.

It was a very tough K1 rules fight which went the whole distance, with the Star member losing out in what ultimately was a very close points decision.
