Dartford Judo Club has been celebrating medal success at both national and international level.
At the veteran judo championships in Hungary, Tomas Gogh claimed a bronze in the M2 U100kg category against tough opposition, scoring an Ippon (a maximum points victory) in his medal-winning bout.
Richard Placek also fought for a hard-earned fifth place in the M3 U81kg category - despite having a broken ankle.
Meanwhile, at the London Open Daya Sehota took gold, even beating a gold medallist in the next weight category up, while silver and bronze went to William Bellow and Andrew Kennard respectively.
Dartford Judo club also playing host to the Kent closed championships and was yet again crowned the most successful club at the tournament, winning 17 medals in total across both seniors and junior categories.
Gold medals went to Gogh, William Bolton, Ioulia Kasipidis and Kennard.
At the British Schools championships, Knockhall Academy student Finley Watson won bronze in just over a minute after throwing his opponent for an Ippon.
Wilmington Academy’s Chris Ball fought in the U66kgs years 12 and 13 category and narrowly missed out on the final.
However, in the bronze medal match he secured the win with a strangle causing his opponent to submit after just one minute.
The club's youngest and newest members were in action at the Tonbridge Classmaster event.
