LONDON Lions moved up into fifth position in the British Basketball League table after a thrilling 95-91 victory over the UCP Marjon Plymouth Raiders at Crystal Palace National Sports Centre on Friday.
Captain Mike Martin led the scoring for the Lions with 26 points, while Adrien Sturt added 25 and Tayo Ogedengbe 24.
Guard Perry Lawson chipped in with nine assists.
Lions coach Vince Macaulay was happy with the win.
He said: “We had so many injuries.
“Orlan was in hospital till 6am this morning, Jordan Spencer was suffering from sprained ligaments and we were without injured Laurent Irish but when you hold Raiders’ O’Reilly, Bell and Lasker to 20 points between them, you’ll likely win.
“I was happy.”
The Lions now host the Newcastle Eagles at Crystal Palace on Sunday, tip-off 5pm.
Tickets are available in advance at Ticketmaster or at the door.
