CHARLTON women’s reserve team manager Stuart Weston does not believe his side will be fazed when they take on Gillingham’s first team in the Kent FA Women’s Senior Cup final todmorrow.
The Addicks reserves hope to follow in their first team’s footsteps after they won the London Cup by bringing a second piece of silverware home when they travel to Greatness Park Stadium in Sevenoaks.
Charlton currently top the reserve Premier League ahead of Arsenal and Chelsea and have beaten a first team during this campaign when Colchester United put their main side out instead of the second string.
Weston (above) said: “Some of my players have experience of playing in the first team anyway and they are in the division above Gillingham.
“We don’t need to worry about them being a first team, they are just 11 women.
“They are beatable like any other team and as long as we can turn up with the right mindset we should be OK.”
