A FORMER West Ham youngster from Greenwich is hoping to get back into the game by winning a nationwide competition to play for Paolo Di Canio’s Swindon Town.
Striker Kerry Kedze, 19, has been selected to take part in first-round trials after entering Samsung’s nationwide Win A Pro Contract competition.
He is joined in the talent contest by Welling-based keeper Darren Sharkey, 22.
Kedze was scouted at the age of 11 to play for West Ham, where he played for four years.
He then played for Barnet, where he was released from two years ago, and is now hoping to make it third time lucky with Paolo di Canio’s Swindon.
“I entered the competition last year and made it through the final three,” he said “I’m hoping to make it all the way this year.
“I was thrilled when I realised I’d been selected for the trials again, it’s an amazing opportunity for me and I’m giving it my best.”
