DARTFORD made light work of Whitstable Town in the Kent Cup last night.

Deren Ibrahim, Ryan Hayes and Adam Burchell all made starts as Darts were invited to attack the Academy End on a chilly evening.

The game was over as a contest soon after the interval when Adam Burchell scored the first of a predatory brace. In many ways, the evening had a surreal feel about it.

In the recent past Darts' have had the first-half blues kicking in the general direction of Ebbsfleet but, on this occasion, the half was bracketed within two goals.

The first on eight minutes was fired home by Danny Harris from all of 25 yards following a Ryan Hayes feed.

Whitstable levelled six minutes later when Lloyd Blackman beat Ibrahim from close range but Dartford restored their advantage with an exquisite individual goal from Jon Main just before the break.

Seven minutes after the restart, the game was put beyond the visitors when Burchell scored from close in following good work by Main and Harris.

From thereon in it was training ground stuff and very pleasing it was.

Three more goals were added, the woodwork rattled and two 'goals' were denied.

Those who preferred to watch Arsenal's weakening grip on the treble saw no better footballing skills on the box than were laid out at Princes Park in a relaxed second half.

The fourth goal came when Tom Bonner nodded home a Hayes corner.

Charlie Sheringham made it 5-1 with a close range finish and then Burchell added a sixth with a header from a Hayes corner.
