GRAVESEND and Northfleet recently demonstrated their support of the girls and ladies game through the Supporters of Tomorrow scheme.

The scheme encourages participation in schools and support of clubs by providing free coaching sessions and equipment.

The school selected, in recognition of their hard work and commitment to girls football, was Northfleet School for Girls, who received free coaching sessions from Fleet star Ross Smith and ladies team player Tina Martin.

Fleet manager Liam Daish and top striker Charlie MacDonald presented head of PE Lorraine Grinyer and her pupils with a new kit before Fleet's match against Scarborough.

The girls also received VIP passes to watch the match and had the opportunity to show off some of their skills in a half-time display.

Ladies club spokesperson Tina Martin said: "This was a fantastic opportunity and a great day for the girls.

"They received a new school kit, a chance to play in front of the Gravesend and Northfleet home crowd and got to meet all the players as well."
