Leatherhead leap-frogged Bromley to sixth in the Ryman league Division table after the Lillywhites crashed to a 3-0 defeat on Saturday.

It was a very disappointing result for Bromley, who were clearly the better team in the first 25 minutes.

In the first 15 mintes, Bromley went close on four occasions.

First, after nine minutes, Steve Potterill played a delightful pass through to Adolph Amoako, but Tommy Dunn in the Leatherhead goal blocked his shot.

Three minutes later Dunn denied Amoako again, this time with a fine diving save to turn the ball the ball around the upright, and from the resulting corner Tutu Henriques was inches wide at the far post.

Then Amoako volleyed over the crossbar after a fine cross by Gary Drewett.

However, completely against the run of play, Leatherhead took the lead after 27 minutes when Steve Sargeant's free-kick found an unmarked Marc Charles-Smith and he headed past Andy Walker.

Bromley nearly levelled when Drewett's volley was saved by Dunn, but four minutes before the break the Tanners went two-up.

Bromley failed to clear Sargeant's corner and Charles-Smith drove the loose ball home with a low shot from just inside the box.

Just before the break, Amoako looked to be be tripped by Dunn as he dribbled around the keeper, but the referee was unimpressed and booked the Bromley man for diving.

Two minutes after the break, Leatherhead nearly added a third when Charles-Smith's cross was headed against the bar by Dante Alighieri with Walker stranded.

However, 16 minutes from time, Leatherhead did get a third when Dean Carpenter's lofted pass found Charles-Smith, who completed his hat-trick with a fine finish.

Bromley almost scored with two minutes left when Dunn, for once, fumbled a cross. Carroll had his shot blocked on the line and Luckett fired the rebound wide. It was one of those days.

This Saturday, Bromley are away to Corinthian Casuals.
