MOSES Ashikodi has signed for Ebbsfleet in a bid to help ease the club’s goal scoring problems.

Liam Daish’s struggling side have only found the target 22 times this season and in a twist of irony Ashikodi is expected to make his debut tonight against Kettering, the side who released the much travelled 22-year-old.

Ashikodi burst into the Millwall first team at the age of only 15 and includes stints at West Ham and Gillingham in his 12-club career.

Ebbsfleet v Kettering kicks off at Stonebridge Road at 7.45pm this evening.

With Ebbsfleet United struggling to hit the heights in the league this season, the club has been very grateful to the members of in their assistance with signings.

Society board chairman Keith Handley said: “In these financially hard times for fans, the generosity of members of has allowed the coach to make signings which would likely have been impossible without this funding.

“More than £40,000 has been raised by members in the past to fund the purchase of striker Michael Gash from Cambridge City, to fund the wages of two other players at the start of this season and now latest signing Moses Ashikodi.

“I wish him well at the club and hopes he gets the goals to help maintain our Blue Square Premier status.”
