A YOUNG footballer from Bromley made a dream England U16 debut last Thursday, scoring the opening goal in the 2-0 victory against Northern Ireland.

Charles Darwin pupil Blair Turgott, 15, put the Three Lions in front at Chester City’s Deva Stadium on an unforgettable night for both him and his school.

Turgott is currently a member of the West Ham Academy and will discover in the spring if he will receive a scholarship from the east London Premiership side.

But it isn’t just on the football field where a bright future awaits as Turgott is also predicted to achieve 12 A–C grades in his GCSE exams next summer.
