MILLWALL have signed a deal with Dartford FC which will see the Lions play their reserve games at Princes Park next season.

Officials from both clubs put pen to paper on the contract yesterday afternoon and the Lions will also send a strong first team to Dartford in a pre-season game at Princes Park on July 28.

Millwall managing director Andy Ambler told News Shopper: “We were looking for a ground to play reserve team games next year.

“We’ve been playing at The Den with 2pm kick-offs and we wanted to go somewhere where we could play 7pm kick-offs.

“Once Dartford said there was an opportunity, we jumped at the chance because they have some fantastic facilities.”

Dartford co-chairman Bill Archer added: “I think Millwall recognised we are a growing club with a great set up and their signing of former Dartford favourite Dave Martin showed we are serious about finding and developing talent.

“That fits perfectly with their own ambitions.

“The relationship we have forged is a true partnership that will benefit both clubs.

“I really look forward to working with them.”

As well as the Millwall friendly, Dartford will also host fellow League One outfits Norwich City and Gillingham in pre-season.

Cody McDonald returns with the Canaries on July 11, three days before the arrival of the Gills on July 14.

Dartford will also play home games against Welling United on July 21 and Folkestone Invicta on August 8.
