THE January transfer window is very different at Ebbsfleet United, the football club owned by an internet community of 32,000 members from more than 100 countries.
Unlike Premier League teams who are scrambling to buy multi-million pound players before the window closes, it is the members’ money and votes which decides transfers at Ebbsfleet.
Having voted to sell striker John Akinde to Bristol City for £150,000 in last August's transfer window, they've created another record by voting to buy central defender Darius Charles from Division Two club Brentford for £25,000.
The deal was sealed at 1pm today when the 48 hour vote closed.
