Mark Goldberg was delighted with Bromley’s dominant 5-0 victory over Barrow on Saturday, but insisted the Ravens won’t get ahead of themselves despite their strong position in the National League.

The emphatic performance, which was witnessed by almost 2,500 fans on Non-League Day at Hayes Lane, was Bromley’s eighth win in nine games.

Jack Holland and Anthony Cook provided the hosts with a 2-0 cushion at half-time, before Reece Prestedge, Moses Emmanuel and Louis Dennis completed the rout after the interval.

And when asked whether it was a perfect performance, Goldberg said: “Yes, I think so.

“To win 5-0 at home in front of a big crowd on Non-League Day was fantastic.

“We couldn’t have hoped for a better outcome.

“Early on in the game we were still finding each other out but they weren’t really troubling us. As the game went on we gained momentum and confidence.

“There were five great goals today but we won’t get carried away – it’s just one game.”

Bromley have adjusted to the higher level extremely well following promotion last season and currently sit in a play-off position.

However, Goldberg was keen to play down the club’s sensational start to the campaign.

“Everyone involved in the club is just pleased that we’re putting points on the board,” he said.

“Our first target is to avoid relegation and then whatever happens after that will be a bonus.

“Within our dressing room there’s great belief. We’ve won 5-0 and some big players are still unavailable through injury.

“There’s confidence that we can keep going but I’m not getting carried away.”

Goldberg believes the change in the team’s training schedule has been integral to their fine run.

He added: “Our training routine is almost full-time and we’ve slipped into that extremely well.

“We can now work to a system much easier, we’ve got the time to make sure everyone understands their roles and responsibilities and that’s made a massive difference.

“It’s taken a while this year but now it’s coming together and the outcome is what you saw against Barrow.”
