Cray produced a professional and disciplined performance as two second half goals saw the Wands get the better of Soham Town Rangers.
The first half was goalless with few chances with Cray twice going close through Andre McCollin.
The second half opened up after the hour when Malik Ouani was played in down the left who hit a decent strike which was saved by the foot of keeper Harry Reynolds and away to safety.
Cray took the lead 68 minutes when McCollin played a great layoff out to Ouani who from the edge of the box rifled in a fine shot which beat Reynolds despairing dive into the bottom corner of the net.
Cray wrapped up the points three minutes into stoppage time when after McCollin’s through ball, Jack Lodge ran in on goal into the area and was brought down by Dave Theobald for a penalty for which the defender was sent off.
The penalty was dispatched confidently by McCollin to give Cray a two goal lead and a very well earned and deserved three points.
Cray move up to sixth in the league table, two points behind the leaders going into a big game on Tuesday night when the Wands entertain Aveley.
