Millwall moved six points away from the relegation zone with a 2-0 win over Birmingham.

Blues defender Maxime Colin diverted Steve Morison’s pass into his own net in the 47th minute before Ryan Tunnicliffe’s strike ensured the Lions picked up a first win in three games.

Lee Gregory and Aiden O’Brien went close for the home side in the first-half, while Birmingham’s best chance fell to Isaac Vassell when his shot drifted inches wide just seconds before the break.

Here is how News Shopper rated Millwall’s players…

Jordan Archer - 6 - Didn't have a lot to do but did well to deny Che Adams at the near post in the second-half.

Conor McLaughlin - 7 - Was troubled more when Adams switched over to his side, but put in a decent showing.

Jake Cooper - 6 - Let the ball bounce too many times, and was fortunate to see Vassell miss his glorious opening after failing to keep up with him.

Shaun Hutchinson - 8 - A typically solid performance from the Lions’ star defender.

James Meredith - 7 - Offered a very good attacking threat down the left wing, and was never beaten by a Birmingham player.

Jed Wallace - 7 - Looked lively and put in some good crosses for Gregory and Morison. He continues to shine for the Lions.

George Saville - 6 - He’ll have better games, but is forming a good partnership with Tunnicliffe.

Ryan Tunnicliffe - 8 - Very industrious and brought a lot of energy to Millwall’s midfield. Shaun Williams’ long-term injury means Tunnicliffe will get more of a chance to impress. Scored his first goal for his new club. Man of the match.

Aiden O’Brien - 5 - A quiet game from the winger, who was subbed just after the hour mark.

Steve Morison - 7 - He got a much-needed rest, albeit through injury against Brentford last weekend, but came back into the side and was instrumental in Millwall’s opener.

Lee Gregory - 6 - Chased after every ball that was punted up to him and relieved pressure off his team late on with his endless running.

Shane Ferguson - 5

Tom Elliott - 6

Tony Craig - N/A
