Charlton have suffered two new injury blows with Leon Best and Jake Forster-Caskey.

The pair only just recovered from their respective injuries, only to endure another setback.

Best damaged his knee, which could scupper any chances of earning a new deal at the end of the month, while Forster-Caskey pulled his hamstring.

Robinson said: “It [Best’s injury] is not good. When you get a contact injury, you’ve got to wait 48 hours for the injury to settle down and then you can scan it with a little bit more clarity.

“But he has a knee problem, he’s had a cruciate on that knee before. He’s in tremendous pain.

“In the last two times he’s played at the Valley, he’s looked a good striker and for that to be cut short in those two games, I feel sorry for him.

“We keep losing players left, right and centre. Two players come back from injuries and then one does a hamstring and the other one goes off with a terrible knee injury.

“Players we’re welcoming back are now out for a period of time. I’ve never known anything like this.”
