Charlton have agreed a loan deal for an attacking player, says Karl Robinson.

The Addicks are interested in taking Arsenal striker Stephy Mavididi on loan. But Robinson has played down links to Crystal Palace starlet Jason Lokilo.

On Friday, the Liverpudlian said Charlton made contact with a player and his club.

And today, he told News Shopper: “Yeah it’s progressed. The player has agreed. We’re just finalising a few things. It’s a loan.

“He’s a semi striker in some ways. He can play up there, he can play wide, he can play behind the striker as well. He can play in three positions.

“I don’t even know [about the Lokilo link]. His agent is doing a good job for him, isn't he?

“I’ve never heard of him, honestly. There will be somebody coming in. We know he wants to come, I’ve spoken to him many times. He’s a good player with experience at this level.

“Ideally he’ll sign tomorrow and be in training on Thursday. He’ll get people excited and we need that at the moment. We need bodies at the top end of the pitch to hurt the opposition.”
