It’s been a fantastic start to the season and heading towards the Christmas period, Charlton sit pretty in 4th with a game in hand and still with all our close rivals to dismantle.

The displays haven’t always provided us with the goals we need. But… Ben Reeves and Mark Marshall are finally fit!

What does this do? It gives us a chance to change games from the bench, and use the pace and power and skill of these two fantastic League One players to help beat the teams around us. Both players have impressed in the three successive cup games and the only way is up for them now.

We keep talking about the players who have been injured but we are finally at the end of the tunnel and we need to use the players correctly.

How will they fit in? With Tariqe Fosu and Ricky Holmes making the wing positions their own and Billy Clarke playing well in the number 10 role, Reeves and Marshall have to show what they are made of to hold down a regular starting spot.

After the break they have had, they will be chomping at the bit to do so.

With a number of important games approaching, the team has been rotated in the cup games to accommodate the players and give our attack a fresh approach.

And recently, with the way the fans have been, this is perfect as the noise and support Charlton's stars are getting right now is what the players need and what Reeves and Marshall will feed off to fire themselves into contention.

The fans have contributed to our strong start – it makes such a difference when they’re on side, supporting the team.

Come January we need to be up there and with Reeves and Marshall, goals will make sure we are in the position for Karl Robinson to improve his side with a marquee signing in the striker department to help the tireless Josh Magennis.
