Karl Robinson has expressed concerns about Charlton’s fixture congestion.

The Addicks’ game against league leaders Shrewsbury on November 11 has been postponed due to international call-ups to Jay Dasilva, Ezri Konsa and Josh Magennis.

It is the second time Charlton have called off a match this season after moving last month’s Peterborough clash to November 28.

It means Robinson’s side will have to play two midweek games coupled with a gruelling busy Christmas period.

When asked if he was concerned about Charlton’s fixture list, the Valley chief told News Shopper: “Yeah, we always have.

“But listen, I think if only one of the defenders [Konsa or Dasilva] had been called up then we would’ve been ok.

“Not having Jay, we would’ve moved Naby [Sarr] there and kept Ez and Pat [Bauer] but with not having Jason Pearce and not having Ez as well - you have one injury and have nothing on the bench.

“So it was something we felt we had to do. By the time we play these games, Pearcey will be back, Josh will be back, Ez and Jay and so those four players will be available.

“Listen, if we start getting injuries, we have two players in every position and they’re all getting fitter and better.”
