KENNY Jackett says Millwall will stand by Darius Henderson after the striker was arrested earlier this week for Grievous Bodily Harm.
Henderson is on police bail until next month following an incident in the early hours of New Year’s Day in a St Albans restaurant which left a 41-year-old man with a broken jaw.
The summer signing from Sheffield United came off the bench for the final five minutes of Tuesday’s 1-0 defeat at Bristol City and Lions manager Jackett expects his leading scorer to feature again in this weekend’s FA Cup tie at Dagenham & Redbridge.
“Yes, Darius will be involved on Saturday,” said Jackett.
“He has a court case coming up but obviously you are innocent until proven guilty and all of the facts are gathered.
“I’m certainly hoping now on the football front he is over his hamstring injury and can complete a good week’s training this week and play on Saturday.
“That’s the aim now. He needs to get back into the team, start playing well, link up with Harry Kane and start scoring goals.
“The actual court case will come and we will support our player fully.”
