KENNY Jackett has admitted Jason Puncheon remains on Millwall’s radar ahead of next month’s transfer window.

Puncheon enjoyed a prolific scoring spree this time last year at The Den when he was on loan from Southampton, signing off his stay in south east London with a hat-trick in the 3-0 New Year’s Day derby victory over Crystal Palace.

However, he went on to spend the remainder of the campaign with Premier League Blackpool before agreeing another loan switch to QPR on transfer deadline day in August.

But that deal runs out on January 2 and Puncheon’s lack of first team involvement at Loftus Road has raised hopes Millwall may be able to persuade the Saints to borrow their player for a second spell.

Jackett said: “We haven’t had any contact about Jason.

“There are quite a lot of situations we are watching.

“Are we watching the situation with Jason Puncheon?

“I would be lying to you if I said we weren’t, but we haven’t had any contact on that one.

“Would the door be open? Yes.

“He is someone we have monitored since he left the club.”

The Lions boss also downplayed reports in Ireland this week linking Millwall with a swoop for Cork City striker Graham Cummins.

Jackett said: “I did see that in the papers.

“We made some enquiries last summer about him but since then we haven’t.

“Cork weren’t that keen to let him go at the time when we made enquiries before the start of the season about perhaps getting him over here on trial.

“I would say that is probably the end of it.”

Jackett also denied there had been any interest from other clubs for Liam Trotter.

“There have been no enquiries or bids for Liam at all,” the boss added.

“He is under contract anyway and is not a player who we are looking to sell.”
