GOALS either side of half-time from strike duo Steve Morison and Theo Robinson secured victory for Millwall over Derby at The Den.

Manager Kenny Jackett bemoaned his side's predictability after Tuesday's 1-0 home defeat at the hands of Portsmouth, so unsurprisingly he decided to make five changes to the starting line-up.

Alan Dunne, Darren Ward, Chris Hackett, Darren Carter and Jimmy Abdou all made way, while there was a debut for Danny Shittu and returns for Alan Dunne, James Henry, Liam Trotter and Danny Schofield.

Theo Robinson latched onto Scott Barron's third minute pass and easily got past Shaun Barker but his low drive was easily gathered by Rams keeper Frank Fielding.

Derby had Paul Green to thank when he got in first to head behind Henry's dangerous eighth minute free-kick at the expense of a corner.

But Millwall took the lead in expense three minutes later when Morison's delighted chip of the keeper from just outside of the D beat Fielding and flew into the back of the net, the striker's first goal since the Carling Cup defeat against Ipswich more than a month ago.

Henry headed just over the bar on 16 minutes later as the Lions went close to doubling the advantage, while Dunne should have done a lot better when he blazed over from two yards at the back post after getting on the end of Henry's delivery.

Theo Robinson's goal-bound effort was blocked by John Brayford as the hosts continued to push forward, looking almost unrecognisable from the side who were beaten by Pompey in the week.

Another chance fell Theo Robinson's way midway through the half, with Henry the provider again, but the on-loan striker was unable to keep the ball in play and the opportunity was gone.

Trotter placed a low shot wide of the post in the 36th minute from a good position, while Shuttu applied a crucial block at the other end to deny Kris Commons in a rare Derby attack.

Morison placed a header straight at Fielding in stoppage time but it was Millwall who deservedly went in front at the break.

Millwall were in control within four minutes of the restart when they doubled their advantage.

Morison in a whipping cross from the right and Theo Robinson got in front of his marker to head powerfully home from six-yards for his second goal in three games.

Henry was genuinely unlucky not to get the goal his performance deserved when his 20 yard shot took an unkind deflection off Theo Robinson for a goal-kick on 58 minutes.

Barron's dangerous cross two minutes later had to be scrambled behind for a corner as the Lions went in search of a third.

Derby's frustration was summed up when Alberto Bueno was booked after a clash with Millwall captain Paul Robinson.

That was to be Bueno's last contribution as both he and skipper Robbie Savage were substituted moments later.

It will be interesting to read Savage's views of today's game in his hilariously bad column in next Friday's Daily Mirror as he barely had a kick all afternoon and the pantomime villain left the field to predictable cheers from the Lions faithful.

Dunne had t be alert to put behind Green's 70th minute cross for a corner, from which Barker somehow headed tamely wide from six-yards, while Commons volleyed wildly over from the edge of the area five minutes later.

David Forde, who had enjoyed a very quiet afternoon so far, came out to deny Brayford moments later.

Morison fired wide in stoppage time but it hardly mattered as a much-improved Millwall side had already long since bagged the points in what was a very comfortable victory.
