GARY Alexander is discussing a permanent move from Millwall to Brentford this weekend.

The former Leyton Orient striker sat out today's friendly with Hearts and appears to be on his way out of The Den, seemingly with Kenny Jackett's blessing.

He said: "We've had a bid from Brentford, so we are just in talks at the moment.

"Myself and Gary spoke this morning and felt the best thing would be for him to miss out this particular game while we have discussions.

"We will see. It isn't cut and dried but we have some discussions to make next week as well.

"It is a bit of everything and it is respect for the player when a bid comes in for someone who hasn't necessarily been first choice.

"There are some discussions which have some way to go yet, but that was the reason for leaving him out today."
