KENNY Jackett claims he will not pay any attention to how Leeds are getting on at The Valley on Saturday while his Millwall side face Tranmere.

The Lions are just one point behind Simon Grayson’s second-placed side and most Millwall fans will be happily putting their traditional rivalry with the Addicks to one side for a couple of hours in the hope their old foes can do them a favour.

However, Jackett will not be distracted by events elsewhere because with Tranmere fighting for their lives at the wrong end of the table, he knows his own side have enough on their plate.

The Lions boss said: “Keeping in touch with other matches isn’t something I do, I just concentrate on our game.

“We will see at five o’clock how things have fallen for us.

“First off we have to do our job and after that we will undoubtedly be very interested to see what has happened around the country.

“To be in a promotion chase is great and we must enjoy it by thriving on the challenge.

“We are trying to get into the automatic promotion places and do better than Leeds, Charlton and Swindon because of this very slight points adjustment at the top of the table.

“There are a lot of sides in this division who would swap with us because the worst thing is when you are in the middle of the table and there is nothing on it.

“Every game is bigger than the last one. Tranmere is bigger than Leyton Orient and should things go well for us Swindon will be even bigger.”

Millwall will take a huge travelling support to Merseyside and Jackett is urging them to play their part.

He said: “Tranmere are fourth from bottom and trying to get one place up the league with two games to play.

“They have their own agenda and aims, so it should lead to a good atmosphere.

“I understand a couple of thousand Millwall supporters are going up, which I’m really pleased with as a manager.

“They will make some noise and get right behind the team for us to put on a performance which shows we care.

“If we put that type of performance on, the noise they will make in the stadium will be second to no club in the league.”

Millwall will be without Shaun Batt, Tony Craig and Alan Dunne for the trip to Prenton Park through injury.

However, Andy Frampton (back), Danny Schofield (calf) and Liam Trotter (hamstring) all face late fitness tests and Jackett is quietly confident the influential Trotter will feature.

He said: “We are hoping Liam Trotter should be ok. He has had a decent build up this week, so if he trains well today and tomorrow I think he should be available.”
