NORRIS NO GO: Plymouth manager Tony Pulis has dismissed rumours linking midfielder David Norris with a move to either Norwich or Crystal Palace. Reports in the weekend newspapers suggested the 25-year-old could transfer to one of their Championship rivals at the start of next season. Pulis told the club website: "I've not had a phone call. Norris is a very important part of this club and he is the sort of player you look to build the club around." Pulis added: "He's been fantastic since I joined the club. He's not having the luck in front of goal but it will come for him. His tenacity, energy and commitment levels are superb."

BECKFORD TRIAL: Crystal Palace are giving a trial to highly-rated Wealdstone striker Jermaine Beckford. The 22-year-old striker has been in excellent form this season scoring 34 goals for the Isthmian Premier League side. Beckford was given the chance to impress for Palace reserves against Arsenal on Thursday, when he played 75 minutes of a 2-2 draw. He put in a lively performance and was replaced by Eero Peltonen.

VALE CALL: Port Vale have made an offer for loanee Crystal Palace midfielder Sam Togwell. Togwell, 21, has been on loan with Vale since November and boss Martin Foyle wants the move permanent when the transfer window re-opens in the summer. He told the Stoke Sentinel: "Sam has done well for us and I feel that is our reward for going out to watch so many games." Talks are reportedly on-going between the two clubs with Togwell still under contract at Selhurst Park for a year.

TRACTOR BOYS: Palace host Ipswich Town this weekend and travel to Leeds on March 21 for a vital match.
