SHEFFIELD Wednesday will provide Charlton's opposition in the third round of the FA Cup following Sunday's draw. The match will be played at Hillsborough on the weekend of January 7, with ticket details to be announced this week. The Addicks have beaten the Championship Owls on both occasions when they have met before in the competition but Wednesday won the last two league encounters in the Premiership 1998/99 season.

JASON Euell and Shaun Bartlett both came through 65 minutes on their comebacks for the reserves on November 29 and were again expected to be involved in last night's trip to Leicester City. Euell, playing his first match since early August due to a dislocated shoulder, scored at the second attempt following a spot-kick award but his side was beaten 2-1. Charlton next travel to Norwich City on December 19.

THERE are now just six days to go until the Addicks' under-18s begin this season's FA Youth Cup campaign away at Walsall. Charlton were beaten 2-1 by Arsenal on Saturday despite a Jack Clifford goal and their match against Chelsea on Saturday has been postponed to allow greater preparation for next Tuesday night's match at the Bescot Stadium (7pm). Tickets are £3 for adults and £1 for under-16s.

YOUNGSTERS on initiatives run by Charlton's community operation will be able to use the facilities at the new David Beckham Soccer Academy. The England captain was in Greenwich on November 28 to open the state-of-the-art academy, which is located next to the Millennium Dome, now dubbed the O2. The Addicks will be working in close partnership with academy officials.
