CHARLTON’S Community Trust has confirmed the appointment of Jason Morgan and Matt Parish as its new chief executive and community director respectively.

The duo assumed the two roles in an acting capacity in early May following the appointment of former trust chief executive Steve Waggott to the same role at the football club.

Now the moves have been made permanent and Roger Godsiff, chairman of the trustees, expressed his pleasure at the news.

He said: “We are delighted that Jason and Matt have accepted the offers of permanent contracts as chief executive and community director.

“Both have done an excellent job over the past six months with the support of all their staff and coaches.

“We look forward to continuing the successful work of the trust going forward.”

Long-serving Morgan has been connected with the Addicks since he established the Charlton Football in the Community scheme in 1992 as the club returned to The Valley.

And he will be assisted by Parish, who has taken on Morgan’s previous responsibility for co-ordinating all of the ever-expanding service delivery work of the trust.

Other appointments confirmed by the trust this week include Alan Dennington as Kent manager, Marc Leckie as London social inclusion manager, Sean Daly as football development manager and Kathy Smart as trust development manager.
