Bromley FC exacted revenge on Swindon Town with a late winner that sent the visitors home empty handed.
The Ravens took on Swindon Town in an "enthralling" encounter, with first-placed Bromley seeking revenge against the second-placed Robins on Saturday (January 26).
Swindon dished out a 2-0 defeat to Andy Woodman’s men in September – Ollie Palmer and Aaron Drinan bagged on that occasion.
Ian Holloway’s men sat six points below Bromley, with a game in hand, prior to the encounter, and arrived in BR2 having lost three more league games than the Ravens this season.
The visitors found the back of the net within ten minutes – an incisive pass from Ollie Palmer fell to Aaron Drinan, who squared a ball across the face of the goal to Fletcher Holman.

Holman steered the ball past a defenceless Grant Smith, despite the shot-stopper’s best efforts to deny. Smith remained extremely busy for the remainder of the first half – Palmer’s charging run forward on 25 minutes ended in him feeding Drinan a chance once again, and the frontman’s powerful shot was well saved.
Bromley’s ‘keeper conjured up another unbelievable save with an outstretched leg 14 minutes later, denying Drinan once again.
It looked as if Bromley may have equalised on the stroke of half-time as a result of a goalmouth scramble – Omar Sowunmi’s headed effort fell at the feet of Jude Arthurs, who teed up Ben Krauhaus, but the Brentford loanee’s shot from point-blank range failed to penetrate a sea of red shirts.
The Ravens went in 1-0 down at the break, but whatever Andy Woodman said at half-time clearly did the trick – it took his side just one minute to equalise. Lakyle Samuel’s darting run and cross into the box caused havoc, and despite Ryan Tafazolli’s attempt to head the danger away, the ball fell at the feet of Ashley Charles, who thundered his close-range strike into the top corner to make it 1-1.
Swindon made a triple substitution on 74 minutes, and Woodman made five changes from the 80th to the 87th minute. One of these changes saw the introduction of Nicke Kabamba, who proved difficult for the Robins to handle almost immediately.
Connor Ripley’s attempt to claim Idris Odutayo’s whipped ball into the box on 89 minutes proved unsuccessful, and with the number one caught in no-man’s-land, the cross begged a black and white shirt to convert.
Kabamba nodded the ball into the back of an empty net for 2-1. Despite eight additional minutes of injury time, the hosts held out for a "huge three points", seeing them rooted at the top of the Sky Bet League Two table.
Next up, the Ravens will face Crewe Alexandra at home on Tuesday night (January 27).
