Bromley eventually converted control into goals as they beat Harrogate Town 2-0 in Sky Bet League Two.
Things were not always easy for the Ravens, but their persistence was rewarded, and, in a game of few chances, it was Bromley who made the most of the few that fell.
The start of the game lacked chances of real quality, with possession changing hands too frequently for either side to establish control in the contest.
After a quarter of an hour, a tussle in the box saw Marcus Dinanga seemingly get dragged down by Bryn Morris, but the referee saw nothing in it and waved play on - much to the displeasure of those in the Glyn Beverly Stand who had a close-up view of the incident.
Just a matter of minutes later, Michael Cheek laid down a first real test to James Belshaw, though his attempt from the edge of the box drifted just wide of the post, proving unchallenging for the Sulphurites’ shot-stopper.
A blocked effort just shy of the half-hour mark fell to Dinanga just inside the box. Receiving the ball with his back to goal, the 28-year-old did well to spin and get an effort off, though it was straight at Belshaw for a comfortable catch.
In the dying embers of the first half, a floated cross was met by Cheek in the middle of the box, but his headed on effort towards the far post was just about reached by Belshaw.
After ending the first half on the front foot, Bromley started the second period in identical fashion as they pushed to find an opener.
Kyle Cameron’s pinpoint cross towards the backpost in the 51st minute was met by a charging Marcus Ifill, though the 21-year-old’s effort sent the ball fractionally behind for a goal kick.
Panic filled the Copperjax Community Stadium moments later when Shawn McCoulsky thought that he had rounded Ravens keeper Grant Smith, but the 31-year-old recovered excellently to claim the ball from the striker’s feet.
The visitors again threatened the Bromley goal in the 62nd minute, when Stephen Duke-McKenna cut inside and dispatched an ambitious cross-goal effort, but, outstretched, Grant did excellently to deny him.
Despite these chances, it was still Bromley who looked comfortable, and they were rewarded for their efforts when Nicke Kabamba opened the scoring in the 74th minute.
Belshaw had done excellently to deny an initial effort from Cameron, but he was powerless to prevent Kabamba from the rebound.
The Ravens wasted no time in solidifying their advantage, which was doubled by Omar Sowunmi just six minutes later.
An excellent long-range floating cross from Mitchell Pinnock arrived at the back post, where Sowunmi was able to direct a powerful headed effort well beyond the reach of Belshaw.
Andy Woodman’s side continued to dictate proceedings as they saw out the game with ease, their two-goal lead never threatened in the closing stages.
The result sees Bromley climb to third in Sky Bet League Two, with EFL Trophy action against Crystal Palace U21s awaiting Woodman’s side on Tuesday.
