Bromley were left heartbroken as a added time equaliser from substitute James Norwood gave Fleetwood a 2-2 draw in a game that Bromley were on top for the majority of the 90 minutes.
Bromley returned to League 2 action after one of the club's greatest nights at Hayes Lane on Tuesday night, knocking out Championship side Ipswich Town on penalties after it finished 1-1 in normal time. This secured their place in Round 2 of the Carabao Cup for the first time in their history.
The Ravens were unbeaten after two league games, a draw on opening day aft Shrewsbury before securing their first win of the season and their second in a row at home, 2-0 against Barnet.
However today's opponents, Fleetwood Town, had won both of their opening League 2 matches, 2-0 away at Barnet and 2-1 at home against Bristol Rovers.
Unlike Bromley, the Cod Army were knocked out of the Carabao Cup by higher league opposition on pens, losing to League One Barnsley despite Fleetwood scoring a 94th minute equaliser to make it 2-2 and force spot kicks.
Reality hit the home side early on as eight minutes in, a corner was whipped in by Fleetwood wing back, Denver Hume, who's delivery was knocked in on the half volley by centre half James Bolton. It was his first goal since a 4-2 win against MK Dons back on the 29th of March.
Despite being on top for the early exchanges, Bromley had conceded their first goal of the league season.
Fleetwood missed a golden chance on the counter to double their advantage when striker Ryan Graydon created some brilliant space for himself but just fired wide of the post.
27 mins in Graydon came close to doubling the lead again when Bromley cleared the ball and he hit the ball sweetly but it flew inches over the bar.
Less than a couple minutes after that chance for Fleetwood, Bromley once a free kick which was flicked to the back post by Michael Cheek and headed in by Marcus Dinanga for his first goal 25/26.

During the early stages of the second half, Bromley were inches away from going 2-1 up as Cheek headed a long ball down to Mitch Pinnock who had keeper Jay Lynch stretching towards the right hand side to prevent it going in.
58 minutes in and set piece magic nearly worked again for Bromley as the free kick fell kindly to Mitchell Pillock who volleyed the ball just off the bar, there had been a few of them today.
Bromley thought they should've been awarded a penalty on 64 minutes when Corey Whitely was thought to have been fouled by Shaun Rooney, however referee, Oliver Mackley gave a free kick to Fleetwood.
Midfielder Ashley Charles was then booked as part of a new law enforcement where only the captain is able to talk to the ref about a decision, the Ravens captain is Byron Webster.
On 72 minutes, it was set piece super sub magic that gave Bromley the advantage they had been pushing so hard for. A free kick was played wide to Ben Krauhaus who looked to have taken the ball too wide with his first touch, however his cross found Nickie Kabamba who headed. brilliantly into the bottom corner.
The 92nd minute saw another late goal to make it 2-2 for Fleetwood as it was in the League Cup on Tuesday. A slip from Bromley wing back Mitchell Pinnock gave some space for Ched Evans to run into and his cross found James Norwood. His first effort was brilliantly saved by Grant Smith but Norwood reacted quickest to steal an equaliser for the Cod Army.
2-2 was how the game finished, both sides remain unbeaten in the league but you can't help feel that Bromley will be disappointed to not win that game considering the chances they have to kill it off at 2-1.
