PALACE have given out the club's end of season awards with players receiving rewards for their achievements during the last campaign.

It has been a good debut campaign in the Premier League for manager Patrick Vieira who has reinvented Palace following Roy Hodgson's departure last summer.

The Frenchman has shifted focus onto a more attacking style of football and has increased the focus on younger players.

This has seen the club challenge for a spot in the top half of the Premier League, something the club has not managed to achieve since 2015 under Alan Pardew.

The end of season awards was held at Boxpark in George Street, Croydon and were as follows:

  • Goal of the season: Wilfried Zaha's effort against Norwich City in February.
  • Moment of the season: FA cup run. Palace had a good crack at winning the FA Cup but fell just short as they were knocked out in the semi-final by Chelsea.
  • Under 18 player of the season: Tayo Adaramola
  • Under 23 player of the season: Jes Rak-Sakyi
  • Women's player of the season: Aimee Everett
  • Young player of the season: Tyrick Mitchell
  • PFA community champion award: Leigh Nicol and Nathan Ferguson
  • Chairman’s Award for Outstanding Contribution: Danny Young
  • Player of the season: Conor Gallagher. Marc Guehi and Tyrick Mitchell make up the top three.

Gallagher has spent the season at Palace on loan from Chelsea and has been instrumental to the positive season making 36 appearances and scoring eight times across all competitions.

The midfielder also won the club’s player of the month award twice, Goal of the Month once and scooped Young Player of the Year at the 2022 London Football Awards throughout the season.

He said: "I can't thank the fans enough, honestly. From the first day, I've loved every minute of playing for Crystal Palace.

"I want to thank the players and staff too."

  • Players' player of the season: Marc Guehi

After the announcement, Guehi said: "We spend an entire year together so for them to vote for me feels amazing. I really don't feel I deserve it.

"Having these guys to play with has been amazing, so I've really enjoyed it."

Now Palace will have to turn their attentions back to business as they face Aston Villa on Sunday afternoon and will be hoping to cement their claim to a place in the Premier League top half.
