ADDICKS utility man Sean Clare's suspension has been a "big loss" to the team, admitted manager Johnnie Jackson.

The 25-year-old has missed the match against MK Dons due to picking up a red card in the 4-0 defeat to Oxford United.

He has been an important player for Jackson due to his ability to play in multiple roles.

Recently Clare has excelled in the wing-back role on the right side of the defence as he has proved to be a solid defender as well as being able to contribute going forward using his pace and crossing ability.

Clare will miss the next two games as he continues to serve his suspension and Jackson will have to find a way for his squad to cope without him.

Jackson told News Shopper: "A big loss, another one isn't it.

"Obviously with the injuries and now suspension it is not helping, especially with someone like Sean [Clare], who has been excellent for me.

"Obviously, we changed the position he has been playing in and I think he has been a revelation in that position there on the right side of the three at the back.

"And with what we are trying to implement with playing out from the back, his athleticism down that side and allows us to add another dimension even though he is playing the defence.

"He also adds a dimension to our attack from that side and he has been a key element for what we are trying to do.

"So obviously, his loss is a shame and he will miss the next two games, so we will have to look at ways of trying to fill that void."
