MILLWALL forward Mason Bennett has admitted beating Derby County is "one of the highlights of the season for him.
The Lions ran out as 2-1 winners thanks to goals from Jed Wallace and Tyler Burey, although there was a scare as Derby got a goal back in the 88th minute after Jake Cooper scored an own-goal.
The win has pushed Millwall up the Championship table to 12th place only two points behind Nottingham Forest in 10th.
For Bennett, the game had some extra meaning as he played for the Rams before joining Millwall in 2020.
The Forward rose through the youth ranks at the Midlands side and made 74 league appearances for the club, scoring four times.
The 25-year-old told the club's website: "It was brilliant. One of the highlights of the season for me personally.
"Thought the lads dug in, especially in the second half, they made a few changes and they pushed us in our own half.
"First half and first ten minutes we were superb and obviously got the early goal which gave us a lot of confidence and then Tyler Burey again, buzzing for it."
