MILLWALL suffered defeat at the hands of Nottingham Forest due to a 91st minute goal from Lewis Grabban.

The Lions started the better side in the match against Nottingham Forest.

Benik Adobe almost gave them the perfect start as he forced a good save from Brice Samba in the 3rd minute.

Millwall continued to dominate and went close again in the 10th minute when Shaun Maline was inches from tucking the ball in the goal, but it was just out of reach.

The visitors did start to grow into the game but failed to muster any real danger in the first 24 minutes, a shot from Keinan Davis that was easily saved by Bartosz Bialkowski was their best effort.

In the 25th minute there was a blow for Millwall as Tom Bradshaw picked up an injury and was forced to be replaced by Mason Bennett.

There was more concern from fans in the 32nd minute when Sheyi Ojo went down hurt and needed treatment from the physios.

Ojo was quickly back on the pitch much to the relief of the fans.

After that injury the game became a battle in the midfield with neither side really being able to carve out any openings for themselves.

Bialkowski was then Called into action after being a bystander for most of the game. The Polish goalkeeper made a stunning stop in the 42nd minute to deny Ryan Yates.

Forest then started to take control before the end of the first half and were pushing for the opener.

Millwall’s defence stood firm and went into halftime at 0-0.

Just before the whistle, Forest’s Died Spence was booked for a late challenge.

The second half started how the first one ended with Forest on top.

The visitors were knocking on the door but could not create a clear cut opportunity.

In the 57th minute during a stoppage in play, Danny McNamara was booked by referee Peter Bankes for dissent.

Forest then had a few shots from range in the 60th minute but neither Lewis Grabban or Steve Cook could trouble Bialkowski.

Three minutes later Forest thought they were in when Davis broke through but his pass to Jack Colback was well cut out.

In the 68th minute Millwall carved out their best opportunity so far as Mason Bennet broke through. His cut back to Thompson was good but the midfielder’s effort was poor.

Grabban almost gave Forest the lead with a brilliant bit of skill, but his flicked shot was straight at Bialkowski.

It was all Forest at this point as they looked to snatch all three points from the Den.

Ryan Yates had two headers at goal one was saved and one went wide. Grabban then had one of his own and forced a fine save from Bialowski.

Afobe went close for Millwall in the 82nd minute but his low drive was kept out by Bamba.

The Lions almost took the lead in the 85th minute when Malone’s free-kick almost beat everyone and go into the net.

Bamba however was there to deny and keep the scored level.

Yates thought he won it late on in the 88th minute as his overhead kick went just over the bar.

Afobe then almost gave Millwall the lead but was denied by Bamba’s stunning stop.

Grabban then did the damage in the 91st minute as he bundled in the ball to give Forest all three points.

It was a hard one to take for Millwall as they had been flourishing in the final minutes but lacked the clinical edge.
