PALACE boss Patrick Vieira has given a positive update on striker Odsonne Édouard.

The striker was substituted in the 66th minute and replaced with Jean-Philippe Mateta and headed straight down the tunnel for treatment on a knock he had picked up during the game.

However, the Eagles manager confirmed that the striker has some issues but it was nothing to cause major concern.

Vieira told News Shopper: "He has some small issues but nothing bad."

The French striker struggled to have an impact on the game along with other forwards Eberechi Eze and Michael Olise.

Palace did make the most of their chances as Conor Gallagher scored with their best chance, but it was a tough night for the attackers who were contained by the Brighton midfielders and defenders.

Vieira said: "Of course today it was a frustrating day for him [Eduoard], Eze and Michael [Olise].

"But we need to learn as well that we can't have the ball all the time and that we have to be more patient and wait for a moment where we have to speed up and do the dirty wrok.

"We have to learn that part of the game in the second half of the game."
