Croydon model Kate Moss will be an official guest at the Euro 2020 final tonight at Wembley.

Hollywood star Tom Cruise was also revealed to be among the celebrity guests, according to the list released by the European governing body.

But the news has not gone down well with fans, who think "more deserving" people should have got tickets.

UEFA president Aleksander Ceferin and general secretary Theodoros Theodoridis will be joined at the final by FIFA president Gianni Infantino and representatives of the English and Italian Football Associations

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will be there with their son Prince George – the Duchess making a dash across from Wimbledon, where she watched the men’s wheelchair singles final – while political guests include Prime Minister Boris Johnson, Mayor of London Sadiq Khan and Italy’s president Sergio Mattarella and undersecretary of state for sport Valentina Vezzali.

Sir Geoff Hurst, David Beckham and Wayne Rooney will be among the ex-England players in attendance, along with Italy’s Alessandro Nesta and Gianluca Zambrotta – and Fabio Capello, the Italian who managed England from 2007 to 2012.

Responding to the news on Twitter, one fan said: "These tickets should be given to people who deserve them!! Like charities or underprivileged. Why the hell is Tom cruise and Kate Moss on there?"

Another joked: "Tom Cruise and Kate Moss, famous footballing legends."

A third added: "UEFA in April: European Super League is bad because football is for the fans UEFA in July: Tom Cruise and Kate Moss on the guest list..."

Kate lived in Croydon with her mother Linda and father Peter, until they divorced when she was 13, before being famously scouted and recruited by Sarah Doukas, founder of Storm Management, in New York in 1988.

She had previously credited her Croydon upbringing with helping her to manage her vast fame.

In a 2015 interview for ShowStudio.com, she was asked if she found it hard being such a huge star in the fashion industry.

She said: "No, because I'm from Croydon and if you get above your station, somebody will f**king knock you back down."

The model went on to say: "You can't go around with airs and graces, at all and I would never want to.

"When I see people do that I think they look like c***s. I don't get it."
