Naby Sarr will be “touch and go” for Charlton’s trip up to relegation rivals Hull City, Lee Bowyer says, as they look to climb out of the Championship’s bottom three.

The defender has been ruled out of their last three games with a calf problem and was not in the squad for the narrow 1-0 defeat at home to Middlesbrough.

Although Sarr remains a doubt for the Hull trip next weekend, Bowyer appeared confident that the centre back would return against Queens Park Rangers.

He said: “Tom's [Lockyer] back next week, obviously his suspension finishes, and Naby's touch and go for next week. He'll either be fit for next week or fit for Tuesday [against QPR].

“We'll monitor him this week and see how he goes. It might be a bit soon for the Hull one but he should be okay for the Tuesday.”

Despite being without Sarr or Lockyer, Bowyer was able to welcome back Darren Pratley as he returned to the starting lineup following a back issue.

The 34-year-old midfielder, whose injury forced him to miss the last five games, has been a key figure for Charlton over the last two seasons.

Bowyer was pleased to have him back, adding: “He just keeps fighting for everything, doesn't he? That's what we all have to do.

“Pratley's been a big miss for us in the last few games, important games, but he's back now and we'll have to look after him.

“His back went because he had to play every minute of every game when we had all the injuries, so it's important that we look after him now.”

The Addicks boss was also asked whether star striker Lyle Taylor would be okay after he went down with a problem during the second half of the game.

He said: “Lyle will be okay, yeah. I'm sure he will.

“I don't know what he's done. Maybe he twisted his ankle or something, I don't know, but he'll be okay.”
