Crystal Palace are holding talks with Yannick Carrasco over a potential loan deal to bring the Dalian Yifang winger to Selhurst Park.

The Belgium international is eager to leave the Far East and put himself in the shop window ahead of Euro 2020.

Palace, relatively quiet in the transfer market to date, have been keen to add to their attacking options and it’s been reported they are ready to offer the 26-year-old an escape route from China.

Carrasco is currently training by himself in Belgium in the Chinese off-season and according to Het Laatste Nieuws he would rather ‘leave today than tomorrow, mainly for family reasons’.

Dalian spent £20million on the matchwinner, prizing him away from Athletico Madrid 12 months ago in a move that shook many considering Manchester United and Arsenal were in the race for his signature.

It’s thought the one-time Monaco man has failed to settle at Dalian, although his £180,000-a-week wages may rule out any permanent deal.

Roy Hodgson’s only signing of note so far this window is Cenk Tosun, and is keen to add quality to his thin squad hampered by injury. Carrasco certainly fits the bill.
