Crystal Palace fans have understandably reacted angrily to comments made by striker Alexander Sorloth.
The Norway international who’s on loan at Turkish club Trabzonspor ruffled the Eagles feathers when explaining his decision to leave Selhurst Park in the summer.
Sorloth, 24, failed to make an impact at Palace since his £9million move from Midtjyland in January 2018, scoring just one goal in 20 appearances.
Sent on-loan to Gent at the back end of last season, he was shipped out on a two-season long loan to Trabzonspor where he’s notched 12 goals in 23 appearances.
“There were two reasons for my decision,” Sorloth told the Super Lig club’s official magazine.
“I knew that the Super Lig was relatively balanced, so at the end of the season you get the chance to [play] in the Europa League or Champions League.
“Another reason was the strong team and the title ambitions of Trabzonspor.
"In comparison, Crystal Palace are a club whose primary goal is always to stay up.”
The sly dig didn’t sit well with Palace fans, and many will be hoping the Turkish club take up the option of signing the forward permanently when his loan deal expires.
