Here's how the Charlton players rated in their 3-1 defeat to Sheffield Wedensday.

Dillon Phillips 7

Made vital saves either side of the break to deny Barry Bannan but could do little for all three goals.

Adam Matthews 6

Got forward more than club captain Chris Solly usually does but the end product was not always on point. Lost possession in dangerous areas but managed to make amends. Found the sunlight in the first half hard to deal with, an odd thing to say in November.

Deji Oshilaja 7

Read the game superbly in the middle of the park and broke up play well. Shielded the defence and wo ore than his fair share of headers. A very useful player to have and never puts a foot wrong wherever he plays.

Tom Lockyer 6

Made multiple crucial blocks in the first half and was the go-to centre-back. Playing with all the confidence you’d expect from a man off to the Euros. There’s n harm in passion, but picking up his fifth yellow for decent means he’ll miss the trip to Middlesbrough. More selection headaches.

Naby Sarr 5

A surprise to see his name on the teamsheet with Jason Pearce on the bench. Capable of the extreme. Poor marking for the Wednesday’s opener allowing Fletcher to get a run on him and was a little loose with ball at feet. A player down on confidence, and the fans know it.

Albie Doughty 7

Won a solid early header which settled the nerves. Great running down the left both in defence and attack. Looks another from the Academy production line that could go a long way. Outstanding.

Albie Morgan 6

Showcased his range of passing which turned defence into attack. Looks a different player since coming back from loan, looks hungry to succeed.

Darren Pratley 6

Ensured the side maintained a high press but looked short of energy in the second 45 such was the effort put in. Harried and tackled and relieved pressure countless times.

Erhun Oztumer 5

In possession looked like the one capable of picking open the Owl defence, but was ineffective on the back foot against a physical backline. Looked to be struggling with injury before conceding the penalty.

Jonathan Leko 5

Frustrating. Can beat a man and then will fall over his own boot laces. Relieved pressure at vital times in the second half but if he a little composure what he’d be capable of.

Macauley Bonne 6

Stretched the Owls backline and won his share of aerial battles. Isolated for much of the second half but dragged his team up the field countless times wining the battles that go unnoticed. Deserved his goal, however scrappy it was.
