Derby day bragging rights belonged to Millwall as a last gasp Matt Smith header sent The Den faithful delirious.
For Charlton fans however they made the short trip back across London ruing what might have, or should have been.
Jonathan Leko cancelled out Shaun Hutchinson’s early opener before Smith’s injury time strike gave Gary Rowett’s side the points.
For Charlton followers the cause of the defeat was simple, and sadly it was down to a fan favourite.
Naby Sarr.
The 6’4” defender was at fault for the Lions goals.
Hutchinson and Smith both outjumped the Senegal man at set-pieces to insure the Addicks’ 23-year Den hoodoo continued.
Sarr was hailed by Charlton boss Lee Bowyer last week and was rewarded with a call-up to the Senegalese squad for the upcoming internationals, fans however questioned his inclusion in the starting XI for what was the biggest game of their season so far.
Really feel for Sarr but that last goal is unforgivable for a bloke of his size #cafc

Sarr has been off it these last two games but perspective needed-earlier this season was our best defender. Players form will dip and with sarr confidence is everything in his performances. He needs a spell on the bench but that needs others to be fit and stake a claim #cafc

Sarr been so poor for too long now feel like we need to bring in another CB during January #cafc

Love Sarr, but not good enough today. Cost of both goals. Needs to be more aggressive in defence and attack #cafc

Just speaking facts. But never ever want Nabby Sarr playing again for Charlton #cafc

The only person who got it wrong is sarr... it’s clear to see he isn’t cut out for this step up. He was good in league 1 but since championship step up he has been poor #levels #cafc

We can rightly blame sarr but let's face it apart from josh Cullen they are played like a load of wank bottle jobs and as much as I like Bowyer he fucked up big time today poor poor formation and selection. #cafc

*Naby Sarr cost us #CAFC

I hate scapegoating players but Naby Sarr needs to come out the team. For every good thing he does, he follows that up with 4 or 5 mistakes. Not championship standard. #cafc

Sarr is not a shit player, second half he was good but no mistake about it both goals was his fault. He is 6 foot 5+ and he doesn’t put himself about, he was literally waiting for the ball both goals and is not meeting it. He’s a fucking unit and getting bullied.. #cafc

Sarr undoubtedly had a mare for both goals today, but I don't get all the hysteria saying he should never play for us again. IMO he's been good for us in most of the games this season. #cafc

Can someone tell me why naby Sarr was selected. Can't handle pressure and has been poor for the past 2 games!#cafc

Naby Sarr proving once again he’s just not good enough for the championship. #cafc
