Crystal Palace fans are split over Max Meyer.
The German was introduced into the fray against Leicester City at the weekend with 15 minutes to go for Cheikhou Kouyate.
Already a goal down the former Schalke man was thrown on by Roy Hodgson to salvage something from a disappointing day at Selhurst Park.
Jamie Vardy added a late goal to Caglar Soyuncu’s effort on the hour as Meyer produced a forgettable cameo.
The 24-year-old started the opening two games of the season but has once again fallen out of favour under Hodgson and has only managed two substitute appearances since August 18.
Despite having a limited time to influence the game, many Palace fans felt the former German international isn’t up to the standard required for Premier League football.
Meyer came on contributed nothing. Ran or wandered around looking like a lost sole. Continually caught in possession. Not a Premiership player unfortunately.

Needs move to regain confidence
Waste of time him being here

Roy has sucked the life out of him and benteke, can’t say any positives about any attacking player other than ayew works hard

Out of match sharpness, lacking confidence

I’m skeptical about him in the Premier League but admittedly need a larger sample size to know for sure. Could be better suited for Serie A / La Liga.

The thing is with Meyer, he isn’t a bad player he just doesn’t fit in with the way we play or how we play 🤷🏻♂️ #CPFC https://t.co/JeYJoyzyW2

Meyer was absolute toilet when he came on #CPFC

Meyer is pony lets be honest, too weak for this division! Poor old ayew aswell getting taken off for benteke proper insult that #cpfc

Poor performance, Schlupp and PVA especially. Meyer had a chance today to prove himself but he really isn’t good at all #CPFC
— Sam Storey (@samstoreyiam) November 3, 2019
Max Meyer and Benteke are just simply not good enough. If we think bringing them on is gonna change a game we are totally deluded. #CPFC

Then there are those that believe Hodgson and the tactics are to blame for not getting the best out of him.
Do not get the Meyer hate. He is our most promising player, never given a run of games to prove his talent. Mis managed as per majority of our creative players. Roy and his anti football tactics are at fault, not Meyer. #cpfc

See idiots writing Meyer off after a cameo appearance, but fail to question hodgson tactics. #cpfc
— Thomas Gothard (@ThomasGothard) November 4, 2019
Also let’s stop scapegoating Meyer and his 15 minutes here and there out of position. Week after week Schlupp just lets the game pass him by. He’s not technically good enough to play in midfield. Without a doubt I’d rather have Meyer in for the amount of games he gets #CPFC

Some of you lot are fucking jokers!!! It's been clear that Roy ain't keen on creative players since day one, Meyer rarely gets a look in an when he does he gets played out of position with hardly any time left of the game, the guy clearly has class, when used correctly #cpfc

People having a go at Meyer left right and centre...what bollocks. He came on for a few minutes and isn't played in the position he thrives in. Easy target for people!! #CPFC
— CPFC_NOW (@CpfcSean) November 3, 2019
This is the dilemma. He gets little game play, comes on when we’re losing and gives the ball away as his touch is rusty. Down to Hodgson to install confidence in players like Meyer and Camarasa rather than bench them #cpfc
