Lee Bowyer does not believe Josh Cullen or Conor Gallagher will be re-called to their parent clubs in January.

Both players have impressed at The Valley this season and speculation has mounted that West Ham and Chelsea are toying with the idea of re-calling Cullen and Gallagher respectively.

Cullen, 23, has been an ever present for the Addicks this season and has maintained the form that earned him praise in his season long loan at The Valley last season.

Gallagher, 19, likewise has impressed in midfield, scoring five goal in his first season in professional football.

Such has been the progress under Bowyer and his coaching staff, the Addicks chief is confident both will remain at the club until the end of the season.

“I can’t see it,” he said.

“For Josh. he had a great season last season, now we’ve gone a step up and he’s doing well now again.

“For me I can’t see why West Ham would call him back now, they’re doing well and it’s not like they’re struggling.

“They wouldn’t call him back to be in and around the squad, that’s not good for his development.

“Conor likewise.

“I’ve been speaking to Chelsea and they’re over the moon how it’s going here.

“They’re happy with what he’s doing and how we are looking after him, so I can’t see it happening.

“I’d be very surprised if it happened.”

With as many as ten players out of contention for Saturday’s trip to West Brom, both are expected to start.

Midfielder Jonny Williams has been ruled out for eight weeks, Jake Forster-Caskey and Sam Field have also been ruled out while Jonathan Leko and Field were always unable to play against their parent club.
