Wilfried Zaha has endeared himself further to Crystal Palace fans.

The Ivorian scorned reports in The Daily Mail that he was on the verge of sacking his agent over his failed summer transfer.

The 26-year-old was keen to leave Selhurst Park but saw moves to Arsenal and Everton fall through despite handing in a transfer request.

Chairman Steve Parish held meetings with the attacker but felt no offer for their talisman ame close enough to their valuation, reported to be £80million.

On Monday The Mail reported that Zaha will be ‘taking legal action against his agent’ over his ‘failure to secure him a transfer from Crystal Palace last summer’.

Zaha turned to Twitter to mock the reports, much to the bemusement of the Eagles faithful.

Zaha was open about wanting to the leave the club and admitted his mind was ‘all over the place’ at the beginning of the season.

Eight games down the line however, Palace star-man has seen him regain the form that had Europe’s elite interested.

Following their 2-1 win over West Ham on Saturday, Zaha addressed the failed move, but stopped short of committing his long-term future to the club.

“I had to put my head down and play my football,” he said.

“I would have been hindering my own progress by moaning and not wanting to perform properly.

“It was a thing where ‘OK, this hasn’t happened but I’ve got to get on with it’.

“I’ve got to prove every time that I’m the top player I claim to be so I had to get over that quickly.

“Obviously my head was a bit all over the place at the beginning of the season but I had to nail down and just get on with it because the team deserved that.”
